Wages The Minimum Wage Ordinance establishes the Statutory Minimum Wage regime to provide a wage floor which forestalls excessively low wages, without unduly jeopardising Hong Kong's labour market flexibility, economic growth and competitiveness, and minimising the loss of low-paid jobs. The Statutory Minimum Wage rate has been increased by 8.7 per cent to $37.5 per hour since 1 May 2019.
